Glenwood Community House

Blood n Fire Atlanta has the mission to provide a permanent, safe, loving environment for elderly homeless men and women through the operation of a community home.

In September 2008, seven members of our Blood n Fire family, formerly housed at the Sanctuary at 188 MLK, moved into our Glenwood Community House. We celebrated with them the final transitioning from a warehouse shelter to a home for family. The house is located in East Atlanta, making them neighbors of many in our church.

Our Glenwood home is also affectionately known as Sylvester’s House to honor Sylvester Hitchcock. Sylvester came to us seven years ago through the Sanctuary Home for the Homeless and became a deeply loved member of our family. He served as a leader in our recovery program and oversaw our “Palm Springs” residents in the Sanctuary. Sylvester passed away September 15, 2008 after a battle with cancer.
